- Mr. Pesin is a principal of Eightfold Real Estate Capital. He has more than 27 years of real estate investment, structuring, and management experience.
Prior to joining Eightfold in 2016, Mr. Pesin served 12 years at LNR Property and its successor owner Starwood Property Trust. Most recently, he served as Co-President of the Real Estate Investment and Servicing segment of the firm. In this role, oversaw all investing activities of the segment including new issue CMBS b-pieces, legacy CMBS, whole loans, and real estate equity. He was also responsible for LNR Partners, the firm’s wholly owned special servicer.
Mr. Pesin was a key member of the LNR management team since the company was recapitalized in 2011. After the Starwood acquisition in 2013, he was instrumental in ‘re-booting’ the firm’s investment platform, directing the deployment of over $700MM in b-pieces, legacy CMBS, and real estate equity. He ran the special servicing unit from 2011 to 2013, overseeing its peak portfolio and managing the resolution and disposition of over $30Bn in distressed CRE.
Before joining LNR, Mr. Pesin worked in the real estate practice group at JP Morgan Partners, the private equity arm of JP Morgan Chase. His duties included evaluating new investment opportunities, analyzing and negotiating joint venture structures, and managing existing investment partnerships. Prior to JP Morgan, Mr. Pesin was an associate at Morgan Stanley in the real estate investment banking group.
Mr. Pesin holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Political Science with Honors from Williams College.
